The selection of new players for Sarawak FA next season was hampered by heavy rain yesterday.
During the selection, some 30 selected players came to give their best to inpress new head coach Ian Gillan at Padang C, but the whole session had to be cut short after rain poured for two hours.
It is understood that the selection if players yesterday also involved Pengiran Bala and Safri Amit, two influential figures in the Sarawak football camp, and the 30 players that were tested were invited for the selection by the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) after being identified through the recently concluded Piala Sarawak, as well as other local football competitions.
Also in the group of 30 is Kevin Gunther, a mix Swedish – Sarawak blooded player who plays best as a midfielder.
Kevin had previous stints with Negeri Sembilan, and did tryout with JDT a couple years ago.
Training and selection is expected to continue again today until the week ends, but with the weather forecast showing little sunshine, it is likely that nothing much can be achieved outdoors.
