With news of Sarawak championing the Malaysia Premier League making headlines, a new question has emerged following an exclusive interview by sports portal 24/7 Sports.
According to the portal, Sarawak head coach, Robert Alberts has cast some doubts over his future at the Sarawak State Stadium when he was quoted as saying “Sarawak FA knows what sort of money I have turned down previously, and so I will need to see what they come up with before I decide on my next move. The ball is at their feet.”, prompting us at Sarawak Crocs to wonder if Sarawak FA can actually retain the services of the Dutchman whom has guided the Crocs to their first silverware in 15 years.
The head coach had earlier in the interview also admitted that “it is an attraction for clubs to look for coaches with such an achievement (being undefeated) in their CVs, as he pointed out that “football is all about money and money is football”, while stressing that Sarawak needs to reinforce themselves considering the Malaysian Super League is more challenging with seasoned teams competing.
Alberts added that “Sarawak FA need to show how serious they are to be of a challenge in the Super League.” as he added that “Sarawak have the potential to be a force to be reckoned with in the Super League and it is up to the Sarawak FA to take it to the next level.”
