Rumours on social media are suggesting that former Sarawak striker, Muamer Salibasic would be returning to Sarawak when the April transfer window opens.
The news has got fans of Sarawak excited, as many regard Muamer as the best foreign striker Sarawak has ever had after the legendary John Hunter.
Our observation on the rumours however fail to reveal which foreign player is suggested get the chop, but since Muamer is a non-Asia, he would need to replace either Billy Mehmet, Ronald Hikspoor or Ivan Fatic whom currently fill the non-Asian foreign player slot for Sarawak.
We contacted Muamer directly to get confirmation of his return, and the Bosnian denies there is truth over the matter. According to Muamer, he would try to return to the Malaysian league in April, and is putting Sarawak as his first choice shall he returns. Nonetheless, if Sarawak doesn’t require his services, he is prepared to play for any other team.
Muamer also said that as far as he is concerned, no one from Sarawak has approached him until today, but there has been interest from other clubs. He declined to name the clubs as negotiations are still on-going.
