Despite being denied an opportunity to represent Sabah in January, former Sarawak striker, Muamer Salibasic is back in Kota Kinabalu to seek a second chance to play for the Rhinos.
The now 31-year old striker is considered a legend in Sarawak, having helped the Crocs lift the Premier League title in 2013 by becoming Sarawak’s top scorer then.
This time around, Muamer is hopeful that Sabah head coach, Simunic would open the doors for him, as the Rhinos have released two of their main foreign strikers for the June transfer window. His chances seem better this time around considering there has been word that Simunic is open to options after his choice of strikers in January failed to impress. The coach might therefore opt for a proven striker which is familiar with the Malaysian football scene such as Muamer.
Shall Muamer make it, he will make a famous return to the Malaysian football scene after his tenure at Sarawak was ended abruptly due to an injury.
Since being released by Sarawak, Muamer had went on trials with both Negeri Sembilan and Sabah, but both teams decided against signing the Bosnian.
Muamer has since returned home to Bosnia to play for a local club until now.
