The Liga Premier Sarawak 2026 (SPL26), an important platform for the development of football talent across the Sarawakbegins today with 14 teams competingfor top honours in football across Sarawak.
The previous edition, which began in September 2025, featured 13 teams with Bintulu FA crowned as champions after they defeated Samarahan FA 3-1 in the final of the Sarawak Premier Cup.
First Matches gets the season underway
The Liga Premier Sarawak 2026 campaign got underway on 15 August 2026, with six matches producing decisive results across the Southern and Northern zones.
In the Southern Zone, Samarahan FA made the biggest statement of the opening day, recording an emphatic 6-1 victory over Sri Aman FA at Kompleks Sukan Sri Aman. The result gives Samarahan an early three points and an impressive goal difference.
Serian FA also started strongly, defeating PDRM 3-0 at Kompleks Sukan Balai Ringin. The clean-sheet victory puts Serian among the early pace-setters in the Southern Zone.
Betong and ATM held each other to a scoreless draw at Stadium Mini Bau to complete the first week in the Southern Zone of the league with Samarahan leading the group thanks to goal differences.
In the Northern Zone, Sibu FA began their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Mukah FA at Stadium Tun Ahmad Zaidi. The result gives Sibu an ideal start as they look to challenge for honours in the northern group.
Meanwhile, Miri FA and Bintulu FA played out a goalless draw, with both sides taking a point from their opening fixture at the Padang Kompleks Rekreasi Petroleum, while Limbang and Sarikei shared the spoils at at Kompleks Sukan Limbang with both sides scoring two goals each.
The result puts Sibu on top of the Northen Zone with three points and still many more games to play for.
