With less than 24 hours to go before the Borneo Derby between Sabah FC and DPMM FC at Likas Stadium, Sabah FC have announced the departure of two players, Harith Naem and Duje Ljubic.
The club confirmed that both players have left the 2025/26 Malaysia Challenge Cup champions.
“Sabah FC would like to express our appreciation to Duje Ljubic and Harith Naem for being an important part of the Rhino squad last season. We wish them all the best in the next chapter of their careers. Once a Rhino, always a Rhino,” the club said in an official statement.
It is understood that Harith Naem could be joining PTS Football Academy, where he is expected to take up a coaching role.
With the Malaysia League transfer window now closed, Sabah FC are expected to turn to their youth players to fill the void left by the departure of the two players.
The Borneo Derby against DPMM FC comes at a crucial stage of the season, with Sabah FC now having to manage their squad with limited options following the departures. – SarawakCrocs
