Sibu Football Association has made an official complaint to the Liga Bolasepak Rakyat (LBR) management about Kapit FA’s use of an ‘illegal’ player during the Kapit’s 3-0 win over them.
In a report carried out by Utusan Sarawak, Sibu claims that Kapit FA, represented by Borneo Leopards, fielded a player who previously represented the Sarawak Youth team in 2015.
Sibu claims that LBR rules clearly states that all teams participating in the LBR are not eligible to field players whom had previously played for state teams, including teams playing in the President Cup, and the Youth team for the year 2015 and 2016.
According to an officer in the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS), the complaint has been received, and the LBR management is expected to inform all three parties of their decision pertaining to the issue soon.
The unknown FAS officer nonetheless admits that there might be a possibility that Sibu will be given a 3-0 win if Kapit was found guilty.
