Kuching FA would soon ink a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Korean football club Suwon FC and JS Foundation, making them the first football team in Sarawak to do so.
According to its Vice President, Fazzruddin Abdul Rahman, the MoU would pave way for Kuching FA to gain valuable expertise in developing the team, with both teams exchanging ideas, technical capabilities and development plans.
The MoU with JS Academy which is owned by Park-Ji Sung on the other hand, is more towards grass-root football development as JS Academy is focused towards developing football as early as eight years of age.
In a long run, Fazzruddin expects to send his young players to participate in the Ji Sung Cup which is held annually in Suwon, Korea.
According to Fazzruddin, the MoU is expected to be signed soon, but he was unable to give an exact date as it was still in discussion.
The move by Kuching FA to have an MoU with an outside team such as Suwon FC and JS Foundation is very much lauded, and it is hoped that such an understanding would eventually translate to better football development for Kuching specifically.
