Kuching FA may be rated outsiders in the Piala FA competition, particularly since it is their first chance at the trophy, but being able to defeat Real Chukai FC in the first round does make many notice them.
Real Chukai FA wasn’t just any team, as the Terengganu based team does have quite a few local titles to their list, and Kuching FA did well to win convincingly at Stadium Negeri yesterday.
With the second draw now out, it seems that Kuching FA will have their work cut-out if they would want to advance to the third round of the Piala FA as Liga Super team, Kuala Lumpur FA is set to be their next opponent.
But if Kuching FA has proven anything since they played in the Liga Bolasepak Rakyat (LBR), it would be to not write them off, as the team coached by Sharizan Sahari not only topped the LBR in 2016, but also managed to enter the quarter finals of the Liga FAM during their first season.
Meanwhile, Sarawak FA has been drawn with Perak FA in the second round, and will play at Ipoh for their very first Piala FA game.
