First ever Kuching Youth Football League invites participants

Grass root football development for football in Kuching is getting a boost with the organisation of the very first Kuching Youth Football League (KYFL).

The league is tentatively scheduled in February 2019 and would involved those aged below 12.

According to the info pack we received on the tournament, the Kuching Youth Football League aims to provide quality competitive matches to youth football academies in an
organised environment, as well as introduce and expose competitive football experience and teamwork to children at an earlier age.

The Kuching Youth Football League would also work as a platform to scout for talented youth footballers who can be trained to represent Sarawak and Malaysia, and help boost the number of football academies in Kuching, as well as improve coaches referee experiences.

In terms of format, the Kuching Youth Football League would be divided into two groups; the under-10 league and the under-12 league.

Under-10 teams would need to pay RM600 per team for registration, while the registration fee for the under-12 teams would be RM750.

All matches are expected to be played at Padang Jubilee.

Attractive prizes are also made available for winners and they include a certificate of participation and a medal for the top scorer of the each league.
