Anai satisfied with West Malaysian pre-season performances despite defeats

Sarawak FA head coach Anai Igang is satisfied with the performances of his team during the pre-season tour in West Malaysia.

According to a report by Utusan Borneo, Anai said the most important thing during the pre-season matches is to identify weaknesses of the team, and improve them ahead of the start of the league.

He acknowledged that his team consist of young inexperienced players and he is satisfied with how they had performed against bigger more experienced teams such as PDRM FA and Melaka United.

He added that the matches proved that Sarawak’s young players can match the more experience players in the Liga Malaysia.

Anai also said Sarawak was able to match Melaka in the second half of the match which they lost 3-0. All goals were scored in the first half of the game.

Melaka United are a Liga Super team with plenty of football household names, while PDRM FA is playing in the Liga Premier.

Sarawak is expected to fly back to Kuching and continue training to prepare for the start of the Liga Premier which kicks off on 2 February 2019.
