The Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) has issued a press statement declining a viral message that the Sarawak FA team is conducting an open selection for the 2019 team.
According to FAS, there would be no open selection as rumoured through a viral WhatsApp message.
FAS instead said that they would only be conducting a closed selection which involves players already under its wing.
FAS also clarified that the selection would involve former players of Sarawak FA, including players from the youth and president cup teams.
In the statement, FAS also instructed all its affiliates to submit three of their best players for the selection.
The selection will be conducted on 21 November and venue of the selection was not revealed.
