The Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) has made a formal announcement that the prestigious Piala Sarawak (Sarawak Cup) would be played from 4th November.
According to the brief image carrying the announcement, the cup which is Sarawak’s top football competition will be played until mid November, ending on 12 November 2017.
The brief statement by FAS also made it formal that Mukah will be the host of this years competition.
Piala Sarawak pits every division in Sarawak against each other for bragging rights when it comes to football honours.
The brief competition in recent years, has also been used to scout for new players for the Sarawak FA football team, and FAS had made a clear indication they will continue to do the same again this year.
For us at SarawakCrocs, traditional football powerhouse Kuching and Samarahan are considered favourites to challenge for the title, but we are also hoping that emerging divisions like Kapit, which now seems to have a very well planned youth development system can spring some surprises.
