Sarawak head coach David Usop has deemed that the straight red card to Hairol Mokhtar for protesting, given out by referee Nazmi Nasaruddin, as ridiculous.

David said that while he could accept the fact that Nazmi awarded Kedah two spot kicks, it was different for the straight card given by the referee to Hairol which was simply ‘too much’ considering the offence.

In the Kedah versus Sarawak Piala Malaysia match, Hairol was given his marching orders in the first half of the game which saw David storm towards the referee at half time to ask for an explanation.

However, David himself got booted out of the field by the referee, forcing Sarawak to play without the head coach for the whole second half.
