Sarawak head coach, David Usop was seen smiling from ear to ear after the 3-2 win against PKNS FC last weekend as there’s signs that his young side is slowly becoming a force in the Malaysian football scene.
The Crocs, adopting more than half new local young faces at the start of the season, have proven they can spring up surprises with good results coming from their away games, notably defeating PKNS FC and Penang FA.
On top of that, David has claimed that his youngsters are slowly gelling well with the team and maturing with the likes of Nur Shamie Iszuan Amin, Tommy Mawat Bada, Mohammad Hafiz Abu Bakar, Dalgish Papin Test and Abdul Rahim Abdul Razak giving their seniors a run for their money.
In fact, the high scoring game against PKNS saw David utilize several young players to his starting line-up, which saw experienced players such as Ramesh Lai and Shahrol Saperi left on the bench.
His young boys didn’t disappoint with super-sub Hafiz Bakar scoring the winning goal.
Tonight against JDT, David is expected to rely on his young chargers again as the fast paced, super rich Southern Tigers is expected to go all out for the kill to improve their standings.
However, with morale in the Crocs dressing room high right now, fans can anticipate a good fight between both teams.
Kick off begins at 815PM.
