It seems there may have been a misunderstanding, especially in regards to the current news surrounding the state of Sarawak football.
The mess, started off with headline news which stated that the Crocs would be unable to play in the Liga Malaysia next season, came after it was widely understood thatĀ failure to obtain the all important Club License would result in Sarawak FA unable to play at any competitions in the league.
However, our contact in the Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP), the body entrusted to manage the Liga Malaysia explained that a team which failed to obtain the Football Club License will still be eligible to play in Liga Malaysia, though not in the top league which is the Liga Super.
He added that the team in the Liga Super must carry the club license by next season, but those in the Liga Premier only need to have one by 2020, which means Sarawak FA can play in the Liga Premier next season shall they not get their club license, or get relegated.
With the latest information, FAS now needs to make sure that their next effort to get the license does come away fruitful, but for Sarawak football fans in general, this is definately good news as the Crocs will still be playing football at one of the highest levels in Malaysia. – SarawakCrocs.com
