Premier League side will receive RM5 millions worth of funds to challenge for the Premier League next season, and promote themselves to the Malaysia Super League in 2017.
The funds were made available by their sponsors Edra Global Energy Bhd.
Melaka United, which is a team based in the state of Melaka, directly represents the historical state in Malaysian football.
The team coached by Mat Zan Mat Aris has not won many major championships in the of the Malaysian football scene, but times have changed as they look forward to joining the ‘big guns’ in coming years.
Melaka was promoted to the Malaysian Premier League next season after the club won the FAM League this year.
