When asked if the long Liga Super break would jeopardize his current good form, Makeche responded positively. He said “I’m used to the breaks! It’s Malaysian fooball and the most important thing is to keep fit. Rest is important, but I will keep myself fit regardless of where I am. I am going home to Perth with my family in a couple of days during this break, but I have a personal trainer there to maintain my fitness“.

As a huge fan of Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, Makeche stated that he follows Mancheter United keenly, but has a strong connection with Perth Glory, the A-League side which brought him into professional football.

Makeche further stated that he has yet to try any local food, but loved the fact that Kuching is such a nice quiet place to live in if compared to Kuala Lumpur, adding that the people here are more open minded and nice.
