Gilmar says teamwork will bring Sarawak further up

Gilmar da Silva Filho is not a new name in the Malaysian football scene as he has played his trade with Kelantan, dan this season, Sarawak.

With the June transfer window set to open very soon, SarawakCrocs caught up with Gilmar to ask him about his inconsistent form in the earlier season of the Malaysia League, and his life in Sarawak at the moment.

According to Gilmar, his poor form in previous matches, particularly the earlier part of the season was largely due to the fact he was not fit and carrying an injury.

Despite that however, the Brazillian admitted that he has already recovered and is now able to play to his full potential.  His two goals in the previous two games was proof to this.  On top of that, Gilmar also added that David Usop, Sarawak’s current head coach was able to instill confidence in players such as himself.

Elaborating to that, Gilmar stressed that Sarawak needs to work as a team if it wanted to succeed.  Only then can Sarawak end the season on a high note he added.  Gilmar futher said that he believes Sarawak will be able to finish at the top five of the Liga Super, and probably win the Piala Malaysia if the team plays as a team with plenty of passion.

On his stay in Kuching, Gilmar admits that it has so far been lovely. The 27-year old striker said that Kuching is a lot like his hometown in Brazil.

He also was all praise over the fans of Sarawak who never gave up on him, giving him encouragements every now and then.
