Further reports are coming in that three people have been detained, with two being players and one suspected as becoming the ‘bookie’.
News reports say that the players are local Sarawakians aged 28 and 30 respectively.
It is understood all three individuals would be locked-up individual cells and would be brought to a special Graft Court on 21 February.
The case is now investigated under Section 16(a) MACC Act 2009, which is the act used to prosecuting cases involving receiving and offering bribes.
If found guilty, all thee individual could be fined not less than RM50,000, or jailed for seven years.
The players involved could also face a lifetime sentence from professional football with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) likely to also take action against the players if they are found guilty.
