Sarawak failed to capitalize on a capacity home crowd as they fell 2-0 to Kelantan in the return leg of the FA Cup tonight.
The Crocs needed a two goal lead to secure a place in the semis, but found themselves behind after a lapse in defending allowed Kelantan to sneak in the first goal in the early minutes of the game through Indra Putra Mahyuddin.
Moments later, a similar mistake by Sarawak’s defense again, put the Crocs in a near impossible mission to advance to the next stage as Norfarhan again calmly slotted in the second goal to put TRW ahead by 2-0 in the game, and 4-1 ahead in aggregate.
Sarawak pressed hard to salvage the game in the second half and they almost got their efforts well paid. However, the referee somewhat disallowed three goals scored by Sarawak, hence denying Sarawak any chance of even cheering up their home fans.
Newly signed Junior Eldstal made his debut appearance in the last four minutes of the game, but his best chance on goal was high above the bar.
With the defeat, Sarawak now has more time to focus on championing the Malaysian Premier League instead.
