Sarawak represents Malaysian Borneo in LBR

Two teams from Sarawak will represent the Malaysian Borneo side at the Liga Bolasepak Rakyat after Miri qualified to the quarter finals of the competition by coming in second in Group C.

This means that both Kuching and Miri, teams representing Sarawak at the National Liga Bolasepak Rakyat, would represent the Malaysian Borneo states after Kota Belud and Papar failed to make the cut due to goal difference.

Kota Belud tried their best to improve their chances to qualify for the quarter finals, but despite their 5-3 shocking win over Kuching, it was not enough to overcome second place Miri which drew with Papar the day before.

With the group stages of the Liga Bolasepak Rakyat over, the tournament moves into the quarter finals with Kuching and Miri joining the likes of Rembau, Batang Padang, Besut, Ledang, Temerloh and Padang Besar.
