Sarawak’s Youth Cup team, and their senior Piala Presiden team have been groups in Group A of their respective competitions.
The Piala Belia is played by youngsters under the age of 19, while the Piala Presiden is played by those under the age of 21. Both teams are considered a feeder to the Sarawak senior team which plays their trade in the Malaysia Super League.
According to a draw made in Selangor last Sunday, the Youth Crocs (Piala Belia team) would start against the other youth sides from Perak, Pahang FC, Selangor, Pahang Sports School, Sabah, Penang, Kedah, Negeri Sembilan and Perlis.
Another ten teams would feature in the Group B of the Piala Belia tournament as seen below.
The Piala Presiden team on the other hand would face off against Kelantan, Terengganu, Johor Darul Ta’zim III, Selangor UiTM FC, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, ATM, Perlis and KL Felda United FC in the group stages.
Both the 2016 Piala Belia and Piala Presiden would see teams in each group playing each other twice with the top four teams advancing into the sudden death round to determine the championship title.
FAM has cited 28 Februari as the start of the Piala Belia tournament, with the Piala Presiden starting on the 3rd of March.
