The Crocs will return to competitive football this September 9th, with a match against Terengganu FA capping their Piala Malaysia campaign, before they turn all their attention to their survival in the Liga Super.
However, bad news has surfaced from Stadium Negeri with Sarawak FA head coach Pengiran Bala admitting that Ronny Harun is still nursing an injury.
As if that wasn’t enough, Singaporean striker Sahil Suhaimi would also be released for national duty in coming days, creating a void up-front for the team based in Kuching when they entertain Terengganu FA, and likely Pahang FA for the Liga Super.
Bala therefore told Astro Arena that he intends to fill the void left by the two players with young players from Sarawak, adding that he intends to keep these young players next season and that he wants them to be prepared for the possibility of starting in the team.
Such move (starting young players) is not new to Bala as he had previously drafted at least six young Sarawakian players in his starting line-up in the past four games he acted as interim coach of the Crocs.
Bala’s seems to have the idea that giving these young players more exposure in top level football would benefit them, and he is likely to be right as these young players have shown a lot of improvement both in attitude and maturity.
Nonetheless, with the Crocs now fighting for survival in the Liga Super, it is anyone’s guess if their improvements would be sufficient enough to keep the Crocs afloat in the Liga Super for the coming season. – SarawakCrocs.com
