The Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) has been punished by the disciplinary board of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) again, and this time around, it is much heavier.
According to FAM, the Crocs will have to pay a fine of RM25,000 for an incident at Stadium Negeri which saw fans throw fire crackers and foreign objects towards the track, bus and officers of Felda United on 16 February 2016.
To add salt to the punishment, the Crocs will also be playing their next two home games behind closed doors after FAM’s discipline board ordered that both the Sarawak versus Kedah (12 March), and the Sarawak versus Terenganu FC II (T-Team) game on 9 April 2016 are affected.
FAS would also be given a stern warning in regards to the incident.
This is not the first time FAS had to pay fines for the action of their fans as the Crocs had become somewhat accustomed to crowd trouble on numerous occasions.
It is however highly expected that FAS would appeal the decision although we feel that such action will not yield much results especially since Sarawak was given a ‘lighter’ sentence last season with promise that such incident will not happen again.
