Sarawak 7-0 NS Betaria: Sarawak show champion class

Sarawak showed every reason why they should be crowned champions of the Malaysia Premier League after they demolished NS Betaria FC 7-0 with hotshot Bobby Gonzales scoring four goals to put him as the deadliest local striker in the league to date.

The game started with Sarawak lacking urgency in attacking, but Betaria’s constant call for their medical team into the field somewhat also disrupted Robert Alberts game plan, resulting in a drab first ten minutes of the game with Sarawak also passing wildly.

Zamri Morshidi earned himself a yellow card soon after as his hard tackle clipped a Betaria player for the visiting team to kick off a wild free kick.

From then on, it was all Sarawak’s as they unleashed their superior midfield and attacking flair with more efforts closing in towards Betaria’s goal.

Sarawak came very close to putting one in when Zamri made an eager pass to to Muamer, but the Bosnian’s curler towards goal was whiskers away.

In the 28th minute, the flood gates of goals for Sarawak started coming in with Ronny Harun throwing in a long ball which was headed in by Zamri Morshidi for Sarawak to be one goal up.

Sarawak increased their lead when Junior Eldstal calmly pushed a pass to Bobby who didn’t waste the opportunity to beat the ever ‘injured’ Betaria goalkeeper.

With two goals up, the breather came, giving Betaria the much needed rest.

Sarawak picked up where they left off in the second half with home team looking eager to extend their lead.

With just a minute into the half, Bobby again added his second goal in the game after his calmly slotted in a one on one opportunity against a demoralized Bataria goalkeeper.

3-0 winning, but Sarawak was not done.

Sharol Saperi made a lovely dribble down the right flank, before crossing it to marked Muamer who failed to beat his marker in the penalty box for a fruitless corner for Sarawak.

Another attack by the Crocs saw Sarawak almost punishing Betaria’s poor marking, but Bobby shoot the opportunity high and wide.

Bobby finally put in Sarawak’s fourth goal when he smashed in a saved effort from Junior.

Not wanting to miss the party, Guy Bwele and Muamer did a one-two inside the Betaria penalty box before Bwele slammed in the Crocs fifth goal as the clock marked 66.

Muamer capped his assist over Guy minutes after when he thundered in a nice placed shot to put Sarawak six goals up.

With Betaria staring at imminent defeat, their players started play-acting, but Sarawak kept the pressure on for the visiting team.

The goal scoring party reached its climax in the final minute when Sarawak was awarded a penalty with less than 10 minutes on the clock. Hitman Bobby took the spot kick, and ensure it was seven for the home side.

Soon after, the final whistle came signalling Sarawak’s winning streak being stretched to six games, with the unbeaten run going to an amazing 18 games.

Sarawak also took back the lead in the Premier League after ‘borrowing’ it to SIme Darby for a few hours prior to this game, which saw Sime Darby winning 5-0 against Kuala Lumpur.
