Sabah FC’s women’s team will be in Group C of the preliminary stage of the AFC Women’s Champions League 2024, alongside with PFC Nasaf (UZB) and APF FC (NEP).
The draw which was held at AFC House, Bukit Jalil was attended by Sabah FC coach Justin Ganai and the team’s manager, Mohd Arziz Afizy Rumsani.
Besides Group C, the preliminary stage will see four groups hosted in centralised venues in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Malaysia and Bhutan.
The four group winners will advance to the Group Stage where they will be joined by eight other clubs divided into three groups.
Those group stages will be hosted in China, Thailand and Vietnam.
The group stage proper will see the top two in each group and the two best third-placed sides progress to the Quarter Finals to be played on March 22 and 23, 2025.
A centralised final four for the AFC Women’s Champions League 2024 will be played out from May 21 to 24, 2025.
Every participating club in the Group Stage will each receive a minimum of $100,000, with additional monies available depending on their eventual placings, which means that the first ever champions of the tournament can expect to be rewarded with at least $1.3 million.
