Robert Alberts has spoken out on the schedule for Sarawak this season through his message on Facebook by commenting that he is ‘saddened that many school children will not be able to watch Sarawak play this season’.
According to Roberts, the scheduling has also put Sarawak at a disadvantage as Penang FA is fresh to perform tonight, while Sarawak had to travel and play last Saturday.
The Dutchman also added that “I must also consider the next league match which will be this coming Saturday against Kelantan”, which he says puts his team at a disadvantage due to the fact that Kelantan would not be playing this Tuesday, hence giving them the upper hand to scout Sarawak and come fully prepared for their coming game against Sarawak.
Robert also said that the standardized kick off time, which is now 8:45PM also meant that most school going children in Sarawak would not be advised to watch the home games because they would eventually reach home very late, hence disturbing their sleep time and preparation for school the next day.
Before ending his statement, Robert pointed out that Sarawak would only be playing three home games on a Saturday, and this would make it even more difficult for families with kids to travel and attend Sarawak home games which are mostly played on a Tuesday. He added that “teams like JDT, Selangor and Pahang on the other hand play all their home matches on a Saturday”, asking the Sarawak fans to judge for themselves if such thing is fair?
Sarawak take on Penang FA tonight at 8:45PM.
