Former Sarawak head coach, Robert Rene Alberts has moved to Indonesia to join the Indonesian Super League (ISL) team, PSM Makassar. PSM which now plays their trade in the Indonesia Soccer Championship due to the suspension of the ISL, is currently 14th in the league.
Robert left Sarawak after a string of poor results last season, but did manage to guide the Crocs to an unbeaten Liga Premier season in 2013, which saw the Crocs not only gain promotion to the top tier Liga Super, but also emerge champions of the Liga Premier.
PSM Makassar is no stranger to Robert as he had a stint with the club in 2010, before opting out of the club following the managements decision to join the Indonesian Premier League which was a rebel league then.
It is understood that Robert’s first task at PSM Makassar would be to prepare the club for the 2017 season, in which the ISL is expected to make a return, after FIFA lifted the ban on Indonesia recently.
