PP MSN Miri wins against Meriting Villa FC

The introduction of six new players in the PP MSN Miri football team did not hamper the teams performances after they won 2-1 against Lawas local side Meriting Villa FC in a friendly match at Stadium Lawas during the weekend.

PP MSN Miri which came into the game with a defensive approach scored the opening goal of the match through Hazrey Abdullah via a set piece in the 23rd minute.

The goal came despite Meriting Villa’s aggressive attacks on the PP MSN Miri goal mouth.

In the 44th minute, Spencer Agung Mattius equalized for the home side as his thunderous shot on goal touched the back of the net. The goal marked the end of the exciting first halve of the match with both sides sharing the spoils.

After the breather, PP MSN Miri became more aggresive and started to increase the pace of the game.

The fast attacking pace of PP MSN Miri was rewarded in the 72nd minute when Izzul Syahmi Salleh brilliantly defeated two Meriting Villa players before unleashing an unstoppable shot on goal for the second goal of the game for the visiting side.

Both teams from then on traded attacks but the one goal lead held by PP MSN Miri remained until the final whistle.

Coach Hakimi Man told SarawakCrocs that he was happy with the performances of his team today and confirmed that he looks forward to future engagement with teams in Lawas in the near future.
