The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) today said that its president Dato’ Haji Hamidin had met with Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) president Posa Majais.
The meeting was set-up to discuss the FAS-Malaysia Football League (MFL) issue which had seen Posa attacking MFL and its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kevin Ramalinggam openly in recent days.
According to FAM, the meeting between the two presidents was organized by Hamidin, and it was attended by Datuk Wira Mohd Yusoff Mahadi (FAM Deputy President) and FAM Exco member Christopher Raj.
Posa was reported to have informed the representatives of FAM on his concerns regarding MFL, but had decided to heed Hamidin’s advice to not continue his attacks on MFL.
It was also reported that Posa had agreed to bring up all his dissatisfaction to the up-coming MFL Board of Directors meeting instead of airing it publicly. This according to a statement by FAM, is a show of solidarity in Malaysian football.
Posa had recently attacked bot MFL, which is headed by the Crown Prince of Johor in regards to several issues. They include insurance of teams in the Liga Malaysia, annual teams grants and referee travel expenses which he claimed had not been paid.
MFL had rebutted all the claims by showing proof of the allegations, but Posa remained in his attacks towards MFL and pushed for Kevin to step down.
