Piala Malaysia: Last ticket quota snapped up in less than 40 minutes

The Football Asociation of Sarawak (FAS) opened more ticketing counters today to allow smother flow of sales, but such action didn’t help as the moment the counters opened, all queues were useless, with conditions mimicking yesterday’s massive fiasco which was televised nationwide.

Fans eager for tickets stayed overnight at Stadium Negeri with some putting up temporary tents as they waited to be first in line when the ticketing counters open at 10 am.

Many also came braving the heavy downpour which struck Kuching city at 5AM, with more coming up to queue as sale time came near.

Unfortunately, the moment the booths re-opened, the queuing fans broke loose from their queue as they rushed to the counters to make their purchase.

Security was again low, and safety was definitely neglected with many forced to climb onto the ticketing booth roof to get out of the ‘stampede’.

It was reported that in less than 40 minutes, all 10,000 tickets sold today were sold out, hence promising a bumper crowd at Stadium Negeri tomorrow.
