Pengiran Bala returns to ‘top level’ Sarawak football scene

Sarawak former head coach Pengiran Bala has been elected as the new man to take charge of the Youth Team.

The former Sarawak player was given the mandate by the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) to take over the 2016 youth squad from Fuad Grbesic whom has been promoted to train the President Cup and Sukan Malaysia (SUKMA) team.

Assisting Bala would be Sarawak football legends Jahar Nor and Ibrahim Mantali.

Bala is no stranger to the Sarawak football scene having played with Sarawak during the Awang Mahyan era. The Miri born coach scored the fastest goal in Malaysia when he was a player and is among the few local coaches who owns an A licence in football coaching in Sarawak.

It is understood that Bala’s first task at hand would be selecting players for his new squad .
