Kuching City FC Snatch Dramatic 2-1 Win Over Melaka FC

Kuching City FC produced a dramatic late comeback to secure a 2-1 victory over Melaka FC in the Liga Super 2026/27 at Hang Jebat Stadium tonight.

The result sees Kuching City continue their positive momentum after their 2-0 victory over Sabah FC in their previous league outing.

Kuching City got off to a bright start and took the lead in the 22nd minute through Cameroon striker Jerome Mpacko Etame.

Etame showed his finishing instinct once again, making the most of the opportunity to put the visitors 1-0 ahead.

However, Kuching City were forced to play with 10 men after Yuki was shown a red card, putting the visitors under increasing pressure as the match progressed.

Melaka FC responded strongly after the break and pushed forward in search of an equaliser. Their persistence finally paid off deep into stoppage time when Dong-hyeon Do found the back of the net in the 92nd minute to make it 1-1.

With the equaliser arriving so late, the match appeared destined to end in a draw.

Kuching City, however, had other ideas.

The visitors refused to settle for a point and continued to push forward. Their determination was rewarded in the 96th minute when Ronald Ngah Wanja stepped up to score the winning goal, sending Kuching City into wild celebrations.

The late strike sealed a memorable 2-1 victory and secured all three points for Kuching City from a dramatic night in Melaka.

After another important league victory, Kuching City will now turn their attention to the Asian stage as they prepare to carry the club’s challenge into continental competition.
