News has surfaced that Sarawak’s latest foreign signing Ryan Griffith is currently unfit to play.
The shocking revelation was made by his old club, Adelaide United whom we quote as saying “Ryan has struggled for game time recently as he is suffering from shin soreness and then a bout of concussion”.
According to our research online, shin soreness or also known as shin splint is an injury referring to pain in the front lower leg. It is common to an athlete and the recovery time depends a lot on the athlete, with the longest recovery time clocked at 6 months. A player suffering from such injury would need to be rested, with playing on painkillers a possible solution.
Rumours of Ryan’s fitness have come into question by several supporter groups as he makes his way to Stadium Negeri on a two year deal after barely three months at Australian A-League side Adelaide United. Several supporter groups on Facebook such as ‘Shoot Sampe Bisak Net Tiang Goal Ya!” have also mocked the decision to sign Ryan whom the believed is ‘injury prone’ in their welcoming message as they said “another import player whom is injured has joined Sarawak on a two year contract. Welcome to the Crocs! Don’t worry, here we have Normah, Timberland, KPJ, Borneo Medical, and Sarawak General Hospital with Poliklinik Jalan Masjid, Pak Mat in Demak whom are excellent at massaging“.
The notable Australian striker is hoped to end Sarawak’s poor showing up-front, as the Crocs offload Iranian Alireza Abbasfard.
Despite the rumour of Ryan’s injury, head coach Robert Alberts seems confident that Ryan would be able to make his debut for the Crocs when they meet Selangor this coming March 25th.
Ryan is a new signing at Stadium Negeri, and has had a short spell with A-League side Adelaide United since his transfer to Sarawak was canceled in December 2013 due to Malaysian Football Association (FAM) regulations for a foreign signing. The striker then failed to be a regular with Adelaide United, but however managed to signed by Sarawak FA after the technicalities by FAM was overcame.
