Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman revealed that Sabah Football Association (SAFA) was given about RM7 to RM8 million ringgit a year to produce favourable result but the final outcome has been disappointing.
Musa who is also president of SAFA also said that the results were not only disappointing, but saddening, adding that the task to bring Sabah football is not easy especially when key players were out for the whole season.
Musa reiterated that the Sabah government has been very supportive of football development in the state, but also commented that not many however ralize what has been done by it.
Sabah this season signed huge names including former Liverpool player El Hadji Diouf with hopes to qualify to the Malaysia Super League. However, their hopes were dashed mid-season with coaching and player crisis distracting the team from picking up vital points.
