The Borneo Post reports that the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) has said that fake tickets are circulating among fans.
FAS has therefore asked fans to be very careful when purchasing their tickets while advising them to buy it from their appointed sales agents.
In light with the detection of these fake tickets, FAS will beef up security at all stadium entry points to ensure that only those with legitimate tickets will be allowed into the stadium. Among the security traits FAS would be checking on each ticket upon its usage during match day would be the ‘Harimau Malaya holographic stickers’ which is said to be difficult to reproduce.
FAS has blamed the sale of fake tickets for the over-crowding of Stadium Negeri which can house some 26,000 fans.
However, a fan who didn’t want to be known contacted SarawakCrocs.com in regards to the fake ticket issue and said that the problem of over capacity in Stadium Negeri was not entirely due to fake tickets, but rather irresponsible ticketing officers who allow fans without tickets to enter the Stadiums upon receiving a certain fee.
