FAM wants KAFA and Sarawak to send proof

Vice President of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Player Status Committee Abdul Aziz Yeop has asked both Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) and Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) to show proof of their claims.

The decision came after both KAFA and FAS claimed they had legal rights over 22-year old Syahrul Azwari who is now training with Sarawak in Kuching.

Abdul Azis however refused to comment further on the issue, stating only that he need to see what proof both sides can produce before a hearing is made in front of the FAM Player Status Committee.

It is expected that Abdul Aziz will chair the meeting pertaining to the transfer issue of Syahrul as the chairman of the responsible committee is Datuk Takiyuddin, a Kelantanese who has string ties with KAFA.

KAFA in recent days have exerted pressure to FAM to take action both towards Syahrul and FAS over what they claim as an ‘illegal transfer of a player supposedly owned by Kelantan’.
