Rumors have surfaced that Ryan Griffith may not be joining Sarawak FA after all.
A recent tweet by Ryan revealed that the move might not be concluded with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) said to be the stumbling block. Rumors say that Ryan was not recognized as an ‘Asian import’ due to him being from Australia.
Our intelligence have also questioned the reason of why the player couldn’t be signed, shall the news be true.
The news, although rumors was not well received by the fans of the Crocs with hard core fan Syaifree tweeting “@Ryufriff not coming to Sarawak? Darn the FA of Malaysia”.
The signing of Ryan has been made public by football portal Goal.com with the highly rated striker said to be eager to join the Crocs. Ryan was even seen posting tweets about his optimism to live in Sarawak, including confirming he would be due for a medical check-up in Kuching next December.
Last week, our checks with our Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) contact on the transfer news came back empty handed with our source keeping mum over the news, and only answered “Be ready for a shocking news”.
For the record, Sarawak is looking to fill their Asian import quota which was introduced by FAM next season.
