FAM defers M’sia Cup matches on 22 August to respect National Mourning Day

All Malaysia Cup matches scheduled to be played on the 22nd of August 2014 (Friday) will be postponed to Saturday as a sign of respect to the National Mourning Day which happens that same day.

A statement by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) said that the matches will be played a day later, which is on Saturday, the 23rd of August 2014.

Matches involved are between Pulau Pinang and Johor Darul Takzim; ATM and Kelantan; Pahang and Felda United and Johor Darul Takzim II and Lions XII.

All matches will be played according to their original time and venue, except for the ATM versus Kelantan match which will now be played at Stadium Shah Alam.

The National Mourning Day was announced by the Malaysian government as a sign of respect and remembrance over the victims of aviation incidents which involved Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 and MH370.
