The Dataran Limbang football field which is a key venue for district and state-level football tournaments will see an upgrade soon.
According to Deputy Minister of Sarawak Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development (M-FICORD), Datuk Dr. Abdul Rahman Ismail, the field is not in the best condition and is rather dilapidated due to drainage system issues.
To address this, a sum of RM250,000 has been allocated under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for upgrading and improving the field’s drainage system as a short-term solution.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of sports, not only as a medium for recreation but also as a promising career path.
He expressed hope that the government’s continuous effort to provide better sports facilities will help strengthen sports development in the Limbang District and foster a healthy lifestyle among the community.
