The Crocs are looking at the possibility of signing a non-Sarawakian goalkeeper for the coming season after an injury hit first choice goalkeeper Aidil Mohamed.
According to Dato Posa Majais, President of the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS), the move will be discussed today during a meeting.
Posa also gave an indication that if agreed, they already have a goalkeeper in mind, with the goalkeeper having previous stints with Sarawak. Based on our knowledge, former Sarawak FA goalkeepers include Iqbal Suhaimi, Fadzley Rahim and Sani Annuar Kamsani.
Our checks reveal that all three goalkeepers named above are not tied to any team for now, with both Sani and Fadzley favourites for a job following their active participation in football since they left the club.
Sani has left Pulau Pinang FA which he played for after leaving Sarawak FA, and Fadzley is also club-less after his tenure at PJ Rangers ended.
FAS previously had said that they will be going ‘all local’ in the 2018 season, but the association further clarified that they will re-evaluate the decision shall a need to use non-Sarawakians crop up in the near future.
