David Usop yesterday would have to swallow the bitter pill that his side has yet to reach the quality he wants after the his side was held to a 2-2 draw against Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KL), which plays their trade in the Liga Premier.
The game which started late due to the month of Ramadan, saw David fielding a mixture of young players with Gilmar Filho and Ndumba Makeche spearheading the attacks.
In the 11th minute, the Crocs almost put themselves in front but Gilmar’s shot on goal went high and wide.
Gilmar was again in the thick of the action, but he failed to convert a clear chance despite only having the goalkeeper to defeat.
In the 20th minute, the home side stunned the aggressive Crocs by scoring, and continued to dominate the game until the end of the first half.
When the second half started, both teams played cautiously, prompting little chances to be created.
However, in the 65th minute, Gilmar made a clear chance for goal count, by flicking in an opportunity in front of goal.
KL however took the lead again ten minutes later through a beautiful freekick which defeated substitute goalkeeper, Iqbal Suhaimi with ease.
As the game seemed to point to KL’s favour, the Crocs fired in their second goal through Junior Aparecido. The Timor Leste international made a brilliant solo run into the penalty box of KL, before blasting in the equalizing goal for the Crocs minutes before full time.
Junior’s goal was the last goal of the game, ending the game with a 2-2 draw.
