The official Facebook page of Adelaide United Football Club has confirmed the departure of midfielder Ryan Griffiths to Malaysian Super League club Football Association of Sarawak.
According to the page, Ryan struggled for game time with his old team recently, and is suffering from shin soreness.
Adelaide United football director Michael Petrillo said that the club agreed to release Ryan as they did not want to deny the player a great opportunity.
Michael added that the decision was difficult and Sarawak FA gave Ryan a very good two year offer with his side currently unable to extend Ryan’s contract due to the lack of game time by the player in his squad.
Griffiths played four games for the Reds during the 2013/14 Hyundai A-League season all off the bench as a substitute and scored one goal.
