We were tipped by a Sarawak football fan that the 2015 Sarawak Season passes are not exclusive to Sarawakians anymore as the seller, TiketPanas.com has decided to do away with the earlier note that ‘Season tickets are exclusive for Sarawakians only’. The change was not announced as TiketPanas.com (and perhaps the Sarawak FA) have decided to make the amendments quietly.
The screen shot above was taken at 1PM today, reflecting the immediate change, if compared to the screen shot below which was taken on 19 January 2015.
Previously, we have reported that we wondered how TiketPanas.com would identify Sarawakians based on their MyKad number since the middle number in the MyKad (represented by the number 13, 50, 51, 52 and 53) does not mean that the MyKad holder is a Sarawakian, but in fact means that the holder was born in Sarawak only.
The move would definitely be most welcomed by Sarawakians born outside the state, as they have in previous times, complained they could not buy the tickets due to such limitations.
It should be noted that season tickets holders can access all games played by Sarawak at home, regardless if they are friendly matches or official competition matches, and that there has been no change in the ticket prices since last season.
