2014 season kicks off on 18 January

The new season for the Malaysian football will start on 18 January 2014.

According to our sources, the season will kick off with the charity shield between Lions XII and Pahang FA on January 17, before other matches involving all Malaysian league teams start.

Two new team promoted to the Malaysia Super League next season are Sarawak FA and Sime Darby FC, while Felda United and Negeri Sembilan FA will start the season playing at the second tier Premier League.

In the Premier League, two long relegated Penang island teams will make a come back in Pulau Pinang FA and PBAPP FC, while Kuala Lumpur FA and Betaria FC will take the islanders position in the third tier FAM League.

The new season promises more excitement as the Football Association of Malaysia has allowed teams to sign three foreign imports, with teams like JDT and Sarawak coming into the list of ‘elite teams’ after both teams suffered their own ‘black-era’.
