Sabah Football Association (SAFA) has announced former head coach of Perak FA Vjeran Simunic as their new coach, replacing Azraai Khor who resigned abruptly after only one month with the association.
The 62-year old Croatian has signed his contract with the Premier League side after the first Sabah FA training and is expected to start assembling the 2016 Sabah team immediately.
Vjeran has coached more than two dozen football teams since starting his coaching career in 1994 with his most successful stint happening in the Singapore League with Brunei DPMM.
In relation to his appointment, SAFA has promised to stay out of Vjeran’s player selection and give the new coach as much room as he needs to steer the Rhinos back to glory.
