Vincent Sigar’s strike sends KV Miri to National VOKTEK Carnival

Kolej Vokasional (KV) Miri which is coached by experienced Hakimi Man ensured that they retained their Sarawak KARVOTEK championship by edging Kolej Vokasional (KV) Betong by a single goal this week.

The finals between the two teams was played at Stadium Mini SSN Tabuan Jaya.

KV Miri started the tournament with a 1-0 defeat to Kolej Vokasional (KV) Sibu in their group match, but regained their winning momentum by trashing Kolej Vokasioanal (KV) Kuching 5-0, and winning over Kolej Vokasional (KV) Sejingkat 3-1.

The two convincing wins allowed them to go into the semi finals of the tournament where they fought tooth and nail to defeat Kolej Vokasional (KV) Matang 2-0.

During the finals, both KV Miri and KV Betong failed to break the deadlock after full time, resulting in the game to be stretched to extra time.

This was when KV Miri’s captain Vincent Sigar, punished KV Betong’s defenses through a perfect free kick to put claim the championship for the northern school.

The win meant that KV Miri will now fly to Johor to represent Sarawak in the VOKTEK Carnival which will be held from 12 to 17 July this year.

Congrats KV Miri!
