Sports writer Wan Fakhrul Wan Bakar has updated his Facebook status by saying that three of Sarawak’s current crop of players are in Harimau Malaya’s waiting list, and they shall make the team playing against Chelsea and Barcelona shall any one of Rajagopal’s first choice players were unable to play.
Those listed are midfielder Junior Eldstal, hitman Bobby Gonzales, and goalkeeper Sani Anuar Kamsani.
In an immediate reaction, Sarawak fan club UltraCrocs commented that they were happy to hear the news, but felt that the selection was ‘insincere’ or in Iban ‘Semadi Nadai’ as chances of these players actually being called up were slim.
Record shows that all three players have never represented their country competitively, although Junior was however called to represent the youth squad of Malaysia at the friendly games in the University Games in Russia.
Nonetheless, he has since been dropped after Sarawak requested for a delayed reporting time due to his commitments towards the Crocs.
