Thousands of fans came to Padang Merdeka in Kuching this afternoon to celebrate Sarawak’s victory of topping the 2013 Malaysia Premier League.
The majority of the fans came in red, with many preferring to wear the official Sarawak jersey to join in the championship celebrations as the Crocs were escorted in by a specially designed bus at around 1:30PM.
Captain Sharol Saperi was in full grin as he led his fellow champions into the crowd with the Premier League trophy, after the Crocs paraded their win around Kuching city on the bus.
It was indeed a very carnival like atmosphere with fans singing songs related to Sarawak football, and many choosing to meet up with the Crocs players to ask for their autograph and photo.
Supporter fans from numerous groups such as Gallore Buceros and Sarawak Football Fan Club were also making themselves heard with lively chants and beats throughout the event, in which saw every Sarawak player bringing their winning medal to the event.
Sarawak won the Premier League title last Monday, with their winning streak going on to a record 9 games, with the league champs still unbeaten until now.
The last time Sarawak clinched any silverware was in 1998, when they won the Charity Shield.
